Just used this product for the first time today. The instructional manual is poorly organized and confusing, only listing cars up to 2005. Newer models are "unlisted" and require you to either follow the "unlisted" instructions, which are distractingly interspersed with the regular instructions, or call a phone number during business hours - no URL for this even though the company has an extensive website. This vendor has no instructional videos on how to mount this system on your vehicle that I could find, which give the significantly dangerous consequences of doing this incorrectly, is rather unforgivable.
As another reviewer noted, this is the bottom of the barrel, cheapest offering by this vendor for this type of system, so it does not come with attachments for your bikes - you will need to use bungee cords or some other type of attachment. Please be sure to not only connect the bikes to each other but also to the mounting system - you cannot use small bungee cords to do this. Get cords that are appropriate to the task.
Also, as noted, the clips that attach the rack to your car are metal, so over time there is the possibility that they will wear the paint on your car.
In my case, I was unable to stabilize the upper and lower mounting struts at the proper distance for my vehicle (14"). The device would only "lock in" at 13" or 15". We had to do 13" so that the struts would be properly horizontal, but this place the bottom strut right on top of the recess handle to open the back of the car.
To be fair, once you understand that all you need to do is place the device in the center of the car, attach two top clips, two side clips, and two bottom clips, then cinch the whole thing up, it isn't that hard. But it took us 45 minutes to figure this out because of the directions and because of the weird way a women's bike mounts on this system. The system does come with special "glass mounts" for vehicles with glass windows that dominate the back of the vehicle.
Using three bungee cords and only having to travel on local roads, we had no problems getting to our destination with two bikes. Be aware that it would be a simple matter to steal not only your bikes, but this whole rack, off the back of your car, so plan your trips accordingly.
I am giving it three stars because it worked, because it is cheap, and because we infrequently need to use this product. If you have expensive bikes, an expensive car, or are a more regular biker, I would certainly suggest upgrading - maybe to a vendor that gives better customer support.

I would NOT recommend this bike rack - awkward, flimsy and worst of all, it really isn't safe. I think it's ok for one bike, which is what I use it for most of the time, but I used it for two this weekend, and one of the bikes came off while I was driving down the interstate. There is nothing more terrifying than seeing your bike bounce down the highway!! We ended up tying the bike with some extra rope for the rest of the trip so it didn't happen again. Don't risk it! Buy a better rack!

It holds my bike but seems unstable - I still can't figure out where all 6 straps go on my car, and the support rails tilt downward towards the rear instead of upwards. Plus, probably the biggest concern - there is no means of strapping the bike to the rack (user must tie the bike down every time). My bike hasn't fallen off though...
